The iris is usually strongly pigmented, with the colour typically ranging between brown, hazel, green, grey, or blue.
Despite the wide range of colours, the only pigment that contributes substantially to the normal iris color is the dark pigment Melanin.

The Eye Drop works by inhibiting the production of Melanin, (think of it as the opposite of tanning your skin to increase the Melanin (darkness)
The active ingredients interact to create a protective Melanin blocker over the iris.
Once it is absorbed through the ocular surface, the protective film begins to block and reduce the concentration of melanin in the back of your iris from reaching the front of the iris (stroma).

Why did we choose these ingredients?
- Hydrogen peroxide is found in all honeys. But is most abundant in Raw, Organic Honey, like Australian Jarah Honey. This activity is triggered by an enzyme found in honey, glucose oxidase. It was initially added by the bees to the pollen; to turn it into honey. This enzyme breaks the glucose down into gluconic acid and hydrogen peroxide.
- It is a natural disinfectant and antimicrobial/bacterial agent used in our ancient medicine. Unfortunately, it is unstable in the presence of air and light and this makes it difficult to store and use. Yet, in honey, it is stable and released little by little. This makes it ideal to use within our eyedrops, since it is both naturally antimicorbial and as it releases hydrogen peroxide, slowly over-time, and as we know that hydrogen peroxide inhibits Melanin, (which gives eyes their darker pigments).

We ship all our eye-drops in coloured glass droppers. All the inside is glass, and we find this medium helps with a number of issues. Specifically, with regard to sterility, temperature regulation and cross-contamination.
We have shown that by using coloured glass we also protect the integrity of the solution, the sterility and extend product life.
With regards to the lightening drops, the chosen cobalt blue glass is effective at blocking harmful sunlight and UV rays and also protects the ingredients of the honey solution, which typically does not like UV light.
We use a glass dropper sealing system, which preserves a sterile formula protected from germs throughout the products use.
Moving forward we are looking to develop droppers that seal after every use to continue our quest for a sterile formula.

Each time a batch is made the team are given the products to use for quality control.
